I started smoking when I was 14-ish, a pack of Reds a day by 16. I remember saying that when they hit $2 a pack that's it, I'm quitting! I use the anti smoke patchI'm 38 now and I've smoked every day since, minus maybe a day here or there when I had bronchitis (go figure). I'm doing the whole 10 week quit smoking program now. Quit on May 14th 2016 and now I'm in my second week of step 2. I almost can't believe that I'm a non-smoker now. Haven't lit smoke #1 since. Haven't even wanted to. I don't have any serious cravings, other than going through the motions of being about to go out for a smoke. I'll actually start walking towards the door like a robot after dinner or whenever, it's actually pretty funny. I know that quit smoking isn't a magic bullet, I had to get my mind in the right place as well. Once you're there then quit smoking at least takes care of the nicotine withdrawal for you.
The way I look at the cost of quit smoking is that its about half of a pack-a-day habit, when the quit smoking is over with then I'll start saving the other half. $210 a month. Over $2500 a year, what was I thinking exactly?? Listening to wheezing while I'm going to sleep versus saving over $2500 a year, that's a tough one...
If you're reading reviews here you're serious enough to get started on it. Just do like I did, stock up on the bubble gum Trident and Werther's Originals! As far as keeping it's flavor for awhile goes Trident is great. Oh and that wheezing went away after about a week and a half. You get better FAST, trust me. Good luck!!
I see I was 38 when I wrote the original review. Just turned 40 and I'm still quit, haven't had 1 since starting the quit smoking program. I figure I've saved in the neighborhood of $4000 so far, so if you're thinking quit smoking is expensive
